Sheila, I am sitting at my kitchen counter drinking my morning coffee, and just read your post. And I am literally crying. It is beautifully written and so clearly comes from a heart of love. Thank you for sharing. I knew some of your story but not all of it, and I'm grateful to know more about your experiences and why these topics matter to you. They matter to me too. I am daily wondering how to pastor in the midst of all of this. I have been thinking more and more about story - as I preached recently, everyone has a story - and we can't just make sweeping generalizations about groups of people. And reading your story confirmed this again - stories matter! They help us see PEOPLE, not just issues. Thank you again for sharing. So proud of you.
