If you follow me on instagram, Facebook, and TikTok you know I have been sharing reels of all my favorite edible gifts. Making gifts that people can eat is my favorite! Most of these recipes are from my mom. She was the queen of homemade gifts. Not just edible ones, she also made things like slippers, and mittens, macrame plant hangers, and I’m sure there are more that I don’t even remember. I love this tradition!
So here are a few of my favorite gifts to make and share at the holidays. I’m just going to leave you with the links and not babble on because your time is precious! I would love to hear what your favorite homemade gifts to receive and to give are. Leave me a comment below. Also be a pal and share this substack with your friends and family!

Christmas Crack - you can watch the reel here!
1.5 cups salted butter ( 1 1/2 cups)
1.5 cups brown sugar
2 sleeves Club Crackers :)
2 cups chocolate chips (I prefer dark chocolate 70-80% cocoa or bittersweet or you could mix semi sweet and bittersweet chocolate)
1/4 cup Heath Bits for garnish
1 tsp flaky salt for garnish (Maldon if you’ve got it!)
Directions:
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
-Line crackers on a 12x15 inch baking sheet.
-In a 3 quart sauce pan over medium heat add butter and brown sugar, stir until butter is melted and sugar and butter become one. This may take a bit of stirring as the butter wants to sit on top of the brown sugar, keep stirring it will come together. Once it starts to bowl, turn down to medium low and let boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Pour over crackers on baking sheet. Spread toffee out evenly over crackers with an offset spatula.'
- Place in preheated oven for 6 minutes. Remove let stand for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the warm crackers with toffee. Let set for 5 minutes. When chips have melted, spread evenly over toffee. Sprinkle with heath bits. Allow to cool and if you like sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Just a bit. Do this just before the chocolate is completely set. If you sprinkle the salt too early it will melt into the chocolate and you won’t see it.
- Allow to cool completely and break toffee up into pieces.
- Share!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, PEACE, JOY, AND LOVE to you all!
